Remembering

This commission is a full sheet transparent watercolor that highlights special momentos and items from the client's home - gifts from her husband, collectible pieces from her father and grandfather. And it also contains my very favorite Durand crystal bowl that I love to use in my still life setups. It was an honor to paint this piece. I started out with a box of her items and did a photoshoot of about 100 images. I narrowed them down to the 20 best compositions and she selected her three favorites. Then I asked her what it was about those three that she liked the most, and I combined those elements to create the final painting.
