Since living in the wonderful village of Oak Park, adjacent to the west side of Chicago, I return nearly every year during the first week of June as a birthday gift to myself.  Its always when Spring is just starting to explode and the poppy and peony are abundant.  Its one of the things I just love about Chi-town and  its surrounding area.
