Being a Louisiana gal, I have always been intrigued by alligators. I have spent time kayaking down bayous as gators floated by, and lazing on docks listening to their barking during mating season. I particularly love the textured hide, which affords wonderful areas for gradation of color while edging with strong value. This painting was juried into the Gulf Coast Exhibit in Rockport, TX and selected for North Light Publishing's edition of Splash 16: Exploring Texture! which will be published summer 2015.
