Movement

My two talented granddaughters are contentious inspirations for me. A;yssa, pictured here, is a contemporary dancer as well as Autumn, her sister, who is a ballerina. Alyssa sets up her iPhone and strikes poses. This particular pose, on the beach, completely captivated me and I needed to recreate it in fiber using raw edge applique collage. Later, we came together as artist pairs for the production Women Create where I presented this work and Alyssa created a choreographed dance on the beach in which at one point, she struck this pose.
